Our Vision

Following the Great work God has done in us, we have a burden to reach out to others especially the youths in all nations to bring them to the light of God until God's plan for His people is fulfilled.

Vision Scripture  | 1 John 2:14b -NKJV-

"I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one".

Our Mission

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you"; Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV.

The Birth of YAM

"A revival broke out in senior six in Mbarara High School where 75% of the class got born again in 2004.They continued to fellowship together as brothers in Christ. One day, aburden came upon their leader, by the names of Arijuna Davis, who after prayer and intercession for the senior six class fellowship began to think deeply about the future of the members among whom many were new converts. Then, on the 5th of November 2004, as he was in God's presence, an idea came into his mind to start a ministry that would always bring the members together. It became so heavy upon him that he quickly shared it with some of the senior six members (like Nkurunungi Naphtali, Muganwa Ian and Byarugaba Stephen) who received the idea so cheerfully.

"Later, they introduced the idea to other members who used to revise from the top most floor of the Mbarara High School library (which was commonly referred to as tundra). The boys also received it cheerfully and agreed that Davis shares it with the entire senior six fellowship in the following meeting. When the message was given to the fellowship, it was warmly welcomed and there and then, action was taken. This was on 6th November 2004. On 8th November, a committee was chosen which later held the first meeting on 10th November 2004.

"The name of the ministry was chosen to be Youth Aflame Ministries (YAM) meaning this was a ministry to stand out of the crowd & shine the light of Christ to the world. The backing verse was chosen to be 1 John 2:14b, "I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one." The regional co-ordinator for the scripture union then, Mr Dickens Zziwa Ssenyonjo, was chosen to be the Patron."

"It was agreed that membership be granted to only boys until the ministry grew stronger. The first members were about 80 boys, all of whom were from the 2004 senior six class of Mbarara High School. Later, in the first National meeting, which was held on 15th January 2005,doors were opened for all the youths, including the girls, as long as they were saved (born again) and had aburden of saving others (Youths in particular)."
